

She is survived by her (2) children: Debbie Ripley, Greg Treadway (Diane); (5) Grandchildren: Rachael Ripley, Alan Ripley, Ryan Ripley, Cortnie Treadway Tasber (Mike), Jennifer “Olga” Treadway; (7) Great-grandchildren: Brianna Tasber, Charlotte Ripley, Lylah Ripley, Seth Ripley, Carmen Treadway, Arabella Ripley, and Vayda Ripley. She is also survived by her youngest brother, Jack Stone.
Nellie is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Allen Treadway, son-in-law Ed Ripley, siblings Leonard Stone, Reba Vick, Ruth “Dukie” Lindamood, Betty Gill and Joe Stone, as well as her parents Carl and Maggie Stone.
After years of service, Nellie retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Tourism. Upon retirement, she volunteered at Christ Worship Center and the CWC Child Care facility.
Her spiritual gifting and passion was serving in different ministries of the church, and thus impacting those she served. These areas of ministry included: Sunday School teacher, Ladies Auxiliary leader, Youth Director, and spent many years as Choir Director.
Some of her greatest memories were singing and traveling as part of the Southern Gospel trio “The Anita Gospel Singers”. Together they recorded two albums and ministered to various congregations over the course of many years.
Nellie had several hobbies and enjoyed spending time reading, crocheting, working jigsaw puzzles, card games, dominoes and watching Westerns and the Game Show Network. She had a weakness for chocolate and had a DAILY diet of Reese's peanut butter cups.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens on May 29, with visitation from 11:00am to 2:00pm, followed by the service at 2:00pm.
Interment in The Garden of Love at Forest Lawn will immediately follow with Reverend Chris Warren officiating.
