Patricia Mae Gable, age 88 passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025, in Nashville, TN. Patricia was born on April 21, 1936, in Lochgelly, West Virginia, to the late Silas and Letha Cantley Hall. She was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie (LJ) Gable, Jr., her sister Juanita Pollock, her brother Cleadith Hall and her stepfather Charles DeBusk.
Patricia (Patty) accepted the Lord at the age of 7 years old and never turned away from her faith. At a young age, her mother started praying for her to marry a minister. On December 12, 1954 she married LJ Gable, a young evangelist, who was invited to Patty’s church to preach on youth night where she served as the church pianist.
In 1964, LJ and Patty, felt that God was calling them to plant a new church in Dayton Kentucky. Within a few months, they founded the Dayton Church of God, where they remained and grew the church over the next (5) years. LJ and Patty went on to serve seven Church of God congregations for the next 40 years until they retired from full time pastoral work in 2005.
Over the years of pastoral work, Patricia served along side her husband as Ladies Ministries President winning numerous awards as President of the Year in her state. She also served as Daycare Director at two of the churches they served.
Patricia is survived by her children, Teresa (Jim) Combs; Gary (Elke) Gable and Mike (Trina) Gable; sister-in-law, Betty Johnson; grandchildren, Adam Combs, Justin (Lauren) Combs, Christiana, Emily, Sarah, Jacob (Danielle), Austin, Addison, Sophia; great-granddaughter, Norah Combs; great-nephews Steve Ashcraft, Jeff Ashcraft and several other nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Patricia will be held Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM with service at 4:00 at White House, Church of God, 2214 Highway 31W, White House, TN 37188.
A Graveside service will be held Monday, February 3, 2025 at 1:00 at Mount Zion Cemetery in Cullman, Alabama.
