Ralph Stanley Bright, age 81, of Hermitage, Tennessee A Faithful Christian, loving husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather, Ralph Stanley Bright, died Tuesday, August 3rd from COVID complications.
Stanley was born Saturday, June 8, 1940, in Nashville to Ralph and Flora Bright. He graduated from McMinnville HS and then spent time in the Army, stationed in Germany. He settled down again in middle Tennessee, where he married Danya Denton, and they soon had their only son, Eric. He always worked hard to support the family, being employed at Check Printers, Peterbilt, AVCO, and then finally at the US Postal Service.
After the death of his first wife in 1997, he married Kathy Brown Jones in 2000, who had also lost her husband a few years earlier. This blessed him with two stepdaughters, Ashley and Brandy.
His hobbies included selling tools, traveling with his wife and family, and serving the church. He served as a deacon at Madison Church of Christ over 25 years and Donelson Church of Christ for close to 10 years. He was loved by all who knew him for his kindness and heart for helping others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Danya, and his three sisters Eleanor Eldridge, Betty Stinson, and Dean Carney. He is survived by his wife Kathy, son Eric (Ashley), grandsons Sam, Eli, and Henry Bright, stepdaughter Ashley (Alex), grandson Luke and granddaughter Susan Darby, stepdaughter Brandy (Rich), and granddaughters Aubrey and Sarah Huth, and nephew Jeff Eldridge.
A graveside service will be conducted 4:00 Sunday, August 8, 2021 in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Bro. Russ King officiating.
Family and friends will gather to remember Mr. Bright at a visitation Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 12:00 until 4:00 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A larger memorial service will be held at a later date.
