Clayton is survived by his sister, Barbara Ann Whitaker Brake, and brother-in-law, Delmas Brake.
A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, he was a member of the Blue Raider baseball team and played baseball much of his life, including high school and locally.
Clayton operated Clayton's Lawn Service with the faithful assistance of Brian Scott. He loved animals, especially cats.
Friends and family will gather at a visitation today from 2 until 6 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be conducted at graveside noon on Monday, March 30, 2015, at Woodlawn Memorial Park to be conducted by Rev. Dr. Dwayne Tyus.
