He was born August 5, 1944 in Dayton Ohio to Ralph Edward and Reva Mercedes Showalter.
He served honorably in the United States Air Force from December 19, 1966 to December 18, 1970 as a skilled hydraulic mechanic and had a long career as a master mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty years Birdie Lucille Showalter.
He is survived by his sons Shawn Showalter (Kim) and Todd Showalter, granddaughters Ashley Creighton (James Creighton) , Tiffany Showalter (Justin Underwood), great grandchildren Shawn James, Logan, Daisy and Matthew. Brother Ralph Showalter ( Malgorzata Peszynska) Sisters: Sandra Showalter and Sharon McLean and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Ron was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed camping with his wife Birdie and long-time friends, gardening, and working in his workshop.
A visitation for Ronald will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, Tennessee, followed by a celebration of life service at 12:00 PM.
