SMSgt Ross Meadors, Jr left this world for the next on February 28, 2024. Ross faithfully served his country throughout his entire adult life through a military career spent both in the Marines and the Air Force, followed by a strong career in National Defense supporting the government’s F16 program through General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin. Ross had many assignments while in the military including Korea, Vietnam, France, and Germany. He was also very proud to have pitched for the Air Force baseball team. His only regret is that they did not let him swing the bat more. He retired from the military out of Reese Air Force Base in Lubbock, TX.
Of Ross’ many lifelong and impressive accomplishments, he was most proud of his family. Ross met his lovely wife of 68 years, Evelyn in 1955, marrying on June 26 of that year. Ross and Evelyn started a family and traveled the world during their time together. They traveled Europe, Israel, Egypt, and the most beautiful locations in the United States. Ross’ favorite was Yellowstone National Park where they would spend many vacations together. Throughout Ross’ career travel, he established many friendships worldwide with friends even traveling from Israel to Easton to visit as recently as 2017.
Ross was a lifelong sports fan, supporting his beloved Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and Philadelphia Phillies. He dedicated his life to Jesus and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Easton, PA.
Ross is survived by his wife Evelyn; son Ron and wife Lynn of Dayton, Nevada; daughter Pam Raymond and husband Mike of Easton, Pennsylvania. Also, grandsons Shane Raymond and wife Shannon; and Brady Raymond all of Easton, PA. Ross is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held in his home state of Tennessee with visitation Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 6:00 until 8:00 and a Celebration of Life 10:00 Friday March 8, 2024 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1150 S Dickerson Pike, Goodlettsville, Tennessee. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Garden of Devotion II.
