Theodore Charles Powell was one of seven children in his family, third from the oldest. He choose to enlist in the Military when he was just 17 years old and served his country in Vietnam. The time he spent in service to his country was difficult on him and he carried those difficult memories with him throughout his life.
Shortly after he arrived home, his kid sister Lynne had a friend come visit. She showed up on a bicycle with curlers in her hair, her name was Linda Marie and Ted answered the door and forever after that day he was smitten with her.
They went on to get married and had two children and eventually 7 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Ted loved kids, that was something everyone knew about him. Just ask any of his nieces or nephews….Uncle Ted was their special friend. He connected with the children especially.
He was always there to take a grandkid to their first job interview, pick them up after school if they missed the bus and be there for a friend that needed their battery jumped.
He was a good man, great father and amazing Papa.
He will be missed by so many and forever carried in the hearts of so many people.
A Gathering will be held at Eastland Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm. A Military Burial will follow at 2 pm in the Nashville National Cemetery in Madison, TN.
