My dad was LOUD. From his laugh to his sneezes that could be heard a half mile away. But also in the volume and intensity with which he worked his way into the lives of those he cared about. He formed lifelong connections with so many people...
My dad was boisterous and silly and he gave the best nicknames (or worst depending on if you were on the receiving end). He showed me what it meant to find joy in life regardless of your circumstances. He made me laugh more than anyone I know.
My dad was kind, sensitive, and incredibly generous. He set this impossible standard when it came to being a friend. I don’t think I will ever be able to live up to the way he cared for people. I’m so glad I get to have so many reminders of his impacts on others.
I have this deep sadness that his health issues took so much from him in the last few years. It’s unfair that someone so good has to endure the pain that he dealt with. But he was so strong throughout it all.
I now have this peace of mind that he is somewhere better. Without pain. But now we have to carry that immense pain with us in the absence of the incredible man I called ”Dad”.
From your loving daughter, Whitney.
