Vernon W. Russell

Vernon Woodside Russell, 85, Air Force Veteran and minister, passed on September 1, 2021 peacefully at home in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Allie Jean (Green) Russell of 43 years of marriage; his parents Arthur “Buddy” and Nannie (Woodside) Russell; sisters, Irene Heath and Edna Sorrell; brothers Grady Dycus and John Russell. Survived by his children; son David Vernon (Lori) Russell and daughter Nancy Jean Russell Pentecost. Grandchildren; Brandon Russell, Drew (Tia) Pentecost, John (Micheala) Pentecost, Heath Pentecost and Justin Davis. Great-grandchildren; Abbey Andrews and Justin Andrews and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, Tuesday 4-8 pm and Wednesday 10-12 until service time at 12 pm with Ruth Green Pace officiating.

Pallbearers: David Russell, Brandon Russell, Drew Pentecost, John Pentecost, Heath Pentecost, Justin Davis and Justin Andrews.

A visitation for Vernon will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 1150 South Dickerson Road, Goodlettsville, TN 37072 with an additional visitation on Wednesday from 10 am - 12 pm at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will occur Wednesday, September 8, 2021 from 12:00 PM with Ruth Green Pace officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
