Mr. Cartwright began working with National Life Insurance and then in advertising wtih WSM-TV when it went on the air for 39 years until his retirement. After retirement he went on and started his own advertising agency.
Mr. Cartwright is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elise Cartwright; daughter, Debbie (Jerry) Lehman; son, Tom (Missie) Cartwright; grandchildren, Josh Cartwright, T. C. (Amber) Cartwright, Andy Casie Lehman; great-grandchildren, Baxter and Bennett Lehman; sisters, Marie Taylor, Annie Ruth Tucker, Loretta Peacock; brothers, Bobby Cartwright and Marvin Cartwright.
A celebration of life will be conducted 10:00 Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in the chapel of Forest Lawn, Bro. J.B. Miller officiating. Burial with military honors by the US Navy will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Family and friends will gather to remember Mr. Cartwright at a visitation Monday, July 21, 2014 from 2:00 until 7:00 at Forest Lawn.
