served in the United States Navy for 3 years. He graduated from The Art Center School of Design, Los Angeles, with a degree in photography. Allen and Dede were married in 1977 in Los Angeles. Together, they opened and operated Wine Way Inn in Calistoga, CA.
Upon moving to Arizona in 1993, Allen started a furniture manufacturing business, selling terrace and dining furniture to the decorator trade. Allen loved golf, music, cars and airplanes. Dede and Allen enjoyed traveling, especially to Kauai and the Central Coast of California. Of his many accomplishments, Allen took flying lessons and soloed for his 50th birthday and went skydiving for his 60th birthday.
In addition to his wife, Allen is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Devon and Michael Vero and his grandchildren, MJ, Natalia, and Eli; sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Tom Placke; sister-in-law, Debbie McPeek; brothers-in-law, Bill and Janet Nie; Doug and Pat Nie.
Visitation with the family will take place on March 4, 2026, from 4-6 pm at Thompson Funeral Chapel, at 926 S Litchfield Road, Goodyear, AZ, 85338.
A private service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ., 85014.
