Eddie Duane Chrisman, a beacon of generosity and kindness, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025, at the age of 79 after a courageous battle with an illness. Born on June 30, 1945, in Tallahassee, Florida, Eddie’s life took a significant turn when his mother passed away at the tender age of four. It was his grandmother, affectionately known as Momma Chrissy, who raised him in Nashville, Tennessee. Under Momma Chrissy’s nurturing guidance, Eddie blossomed into the compassionate and generous man he became.
Eddie is survived by his devoted wife, Meg Chrisman; his son, Mike Chrisman, residing in Clarksville, Tennessee; his stepson, Aaron Gragg, in Graham, Texas; and five grandchildren: Devin Chrisman, Hayley Chrisman, Rhiannon Gragg, Eric Buckalew, and Pepper Tuttle. Additionally, he was blessed with one great-granddaughter, Lainey Chrisman.
Eddie served his country with honor in Vietnam. His unwavering love for this nation continued to inspire him, and he proudly displayed the American flag and generously supported Veteran organizations. In memory of Eddie, any memorial donations can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Eddie, a tireless worker at Kelly Springfield Tire Company, finally achieved his dream of becoming an independent business owner by purchasing two Big O Tires franchises in Reno, Nevada. His genuine love for interacting with people was evident throughout his career.
In August 1997, Eddie tied the knot with Meg. After years of hard work, they decided to retire and relocate to Pebble Creek Golf Community in Goodyear, Arizona, in 2013. There, Eddie embraced the local golf and pickleball scene, forming wonderful friendships. Despite being a lifelong LA Dodger fan, he cherished the warm Arizona sun and found solace in his backyard by the pool, engrossed in a good book.
Just days before his passing, some of his golf buddies visited him in their home. They wheeled his bed out into the backyard, allowing him to soak up the sun and enjoy their company. As they regaled him with golf stories, Eddie, who appeared to be sleeping and without opening his eyes, let out a hearty “Bullsh…”, expressing his unwavering appreciation for their tales. His sense of humor remained intact until the very end.
Eddie’s passing will leave a profound void in the lives of those he touched. He will be deeply missed
