He lived until the wonderful age of 97. We are blessed to have had him in our lives for so many years. Efren, also fondly known as Daddy and Abuelo, loved to dance and listen to Mexican music. It was not unusual to see him dancing with his grandchildren at family parties.
He is survived by his children: Thomas Palomo (Olivia), Graciela Palomo, Andres Lopez (Patricia), Concepsion Lopez, and Olivia Lopez. He is preceded in death by his wife Angelita Lopez and sons Benjamin Lopez and Daniel Del Real and his grand daughters Krystal Angelita Lopez and Sonya Lopez. He has 32 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He is loved by many and will be missed by all.
The memories and stories he told will live on through his family. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, valuing family and fighting for what is right. Efren proudly marched with Cesar Chavez years ago and fought for the rights of farm workers. Efren also fought in California forest fires. He worked until he was in his 80’s, always striving to provide for his family. He had strong work ethics and has passed these traits to his children and grandchildren.
Services will be held on October 20, 2025, at Thompson Funeral Chapel in Goodyear, AZ. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley, who showed much love and care for him in his last months of life.
