

Fidel Hernandez Rodriguez, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on August 25, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on April 24, 1942, in San Angelo, Texas, he was the cherished son of Julio Rodriguez Luera and Maria Hernandez Rodriguez. The family moved to Arizona when Fidel was 11 years old, where he would go on to build a life filled with love and dedication.
Fidel was a highway construction worker for 40 years, a career marked by hard work and commitment. After retiring from the Littleton Elementary District, he enjoyed a well-earned retirement, surrounded by family and friends.
In 1963, Fidel married the love of his life, Rosa, after a year-long courtship. Together, they raised three children, creating a family filled with warmth and care. Fidel is survived by his wife Rosa V. Rodriguez, his daughters Thelma Hanes and Marixa Vizzerra, and his son Fidel A. Rodriguez. He also leaves behind his sister, Maria Saldana, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Fidel found joy in spending time with his family, fishing, camping, and visiting casinos. These activities were a testament to his vibrant spirit and love for life.
He was preceded in death by Mere Rodriguez, Eligio Rodriguez, Teodolo Rodriguez, Porfirio Rodriguez, Daniel Rodriguez, Domingo Rodriguez, Rosendo Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez, Lidia Perez, Victoria Gutierrez, Linda Montoya, and Susi Gonzales.
Fidel will be laid to rest at West Resthaven Park Cemetery, located at 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale Saturday, September 13 at 1:00 pm. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
