

We are saddened to announce the passing of Jacob Vela, a beloved son, friend, and USMC veteran. He was born October 9, 1986 in Phoenix, Arizona to John Vela and Gina Ortega. His life was tragically ended on October 22, 2024. Jacob was known for his resilience, dedication, and love for life, leaving a profound impact on all who knew him.
Jacob is survived by his mother Gina, father John, and brother Zeke. He is also survived by his beloved sons Jacob Vela II, Christian Vela, Jaiden Vela, and Nathaniel Vela.
Born and raised in Arizona, Jacob had a passion for the outdoors and a strong sense of community. He enlisted in the Marine Corps after high school, where he formed lasting bonds and learned the values of honor, courage, and commitment. His military service shaped his character and instilled a desire to support others.
After his service, Jacob became a successful entrepreneur, channeling his work ethic and creativity into his business. He was dedicated to exceeding client expectations and built a reputation for reliability.
An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Jacob enjoyed riding as a way to connect with others and experience freedom. He organized group rides and cherished the camaraderie shared with friends.
Jacob’s passing has left friends, family, and fellow veterans in shock. Known for his vibrant personality and infectious laughter, he will be deeply missed. His legacy as a veteran, entrepreneur, and motorcycle lover will always be remembered.
A visitation for Jacob will be held Monday, November 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Rd., Goodyear, Arizona 85338, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
