

He was born on February 8, 1947, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, to Arthur and Anna (Speight) Walton. Larry was a beloved father and friend.
He is survived by his son, Brian Walton, his wife, Gricelda Walton, and grandchildren Gracious Walton, Kobe Walton, Amare Walton and Tristan Walton of Goodyear, AZ his daughter, Jyotika DeGraffenreid, her husband, Lloyd DeGraffenreid, and grandchildren Collin DeGraffenreid, Preston DeGraffenreid and Sydney DeGraffenreid of Chandler, AZ; his children's mother and ex-wife, Donna Dansby of Phoenix; and his sister, Patricia Walton of PA. Larry also leaves behind a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur, and Anna Walton; his brothers, Bruce Walton, Rev. Robert Hunter, and Rev. Donald Jones; and his grandson, Adam Walton.
Larry Walton was a proud graduate of Arizona State University, where he excelled in football as a wide receiver and ran track. His athletic prowess led him to a nearly 10-year career in the National Football League, playing for the Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills. He had a passion for all things sports and loved recounting stories of his youth and time with his teammates in college and the National Football League.
Larry was known for his love of Motown music, and his amazing voice often captivated those around him. He had a particular fondness for fast sports cars, Formula 1 racing and was a skilled golfer, enjoying rounds with his son, Brian, former teammates, and at charity events, always supporting those in need. He was the life of the party, always full of energy and joy, and adored by all who knew him.
Larry had a natural talent for connecting with people, always ready to lend an ear or offer help. He was deeply passionate about his children and grandchildren, taking immense pride in their achievements in school and sports. He seized every opportunity to impart his wisdom, both in life and in sports, encouraging them to excel in their respective endeavors.
Larry will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
