Jack’s faith in God, love of family, and inherent dry sense of humor were constants throughout life. Jack was employed at Cordiner Drug in downtown Laramie at the age of 12. He graduated from Laramie High and the University of Wyoming. He became a licensed Pharmacist and shortly thereafter spent the majority of two years stationed in Korea for the United States Army. Following a few years of work back at Cordiner’s alongside brother Jim, Jack married Charlotte Bisacre in 1963 and Jack and Jim purchased the “drug store”. In 1968 they acquired Condit Drug and in 1976 they combined the two stores and opened The Brother’s Pharmacy located on the southeast corner of 2nd and Grand.
Jack and Jim were respected and known for great care, spending the extra time, “always being there,” and providing the community with several opportunities to have a good laugh or a little chuckle. After several years and as times changed, The Brother’s closed in 1993, and Jack and Jim worked for Kmart in Laramie until they jointly retired in 2003. Jack and wife Charlotte ventured to Goodyear Arizona near daughter Donna Farney and family shortly thereafter. Jack worked part time for Kmart in the area until 2007 and received a Golden Certificate from the Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy marking 50 years.
Jack, Charlotte and the Arizona warmth brought many welcomed visitors. God and family remained the utmost priorities and Jack cared for Charlotte through a battle with cancer ending in April of 2007.
Jack organized several visits to each of his children and siblings during the summer months until 2018 when he joined son Tom and family in Stayton Oregon. This past year, Jack received care in Avondale Arizona while fighting dementia.
Jack enjoyed a good story. He was a great listener. Kind, considerate and gracious.
