

She attended Wichita and Abilene public Schools. Graduating from Abilene ( Kansas ) High School with the class of 1974. Growing up Merrie was active in Girl Scouts, MYF, and learning Cross Singers. Merrie was also an Avid Softball Player. Her first real job was when she was in High School was in the Visitors Center at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Library/ Museum complex in Abilene.
In August of 1976 Merrie was United in Marriage to Kendall Dean Bruns. To this Union one Daughter, Jayme Rae Bruns-Hamilton. The marriage later dissolved.
Merrie began working 2 jobs when she moved to Phoenix. She worked Security for the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury and the AZ Diamondbacks. Merrie also walked some of the biggest names in Phoenix Sports on and off the fields. She was friends with so many people and everyone knew her, you could find her on the floor of every home game on TV.
Merrie also worked at Cresline as a Quality Control and she had the fortitude to work both of these jobs for over 30 years. Her jobs and the people she worked with were her passion and her coworkers were her extended family.Merrie gave so much love to everyone, and received the love in return by so many.
Although Merrie is resting her spirit is lived though her Daughter Jayme, her Mother Betty Eckman along with her Surviving Siblings Annette, Joyce, and Steve. Also was her blessings ( Grandchildren ) Kylie Rae Hamilton, Braedon Kendall Hamilton, and Great GrandChild Violet Rae Kost.
Merrie is now reunited with her Father Verl Eckman and her Sister Jeannette.
