Susan Ruth (Weems) Glenn was born on March 18, 1943, to Warren and Ruth Weems in Ajo, Arizona. As the eldest of four siblings - Warren, James, Kathy, and Dan-she embraced her role with love, wisdom, and kindness.
Susan pursued her passion for education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University. She dedicated thirty years to teaching elementary school, shaping young minds with patience, creativity, and unwavering dedication. Even after retiring, her love for teaching remained strong-often manifesting in dreams where she continued instructing her students, as if the classroom was forever part of her soul. Former students frequently returned to visit, sharing that she had been their favorite teacher.
On November 17, 1965, Susan married Gary Glenn, beginning a beautiful life together. Together they raised four sons-Gregory (wife Grace, son Gregory), Brian (sons Brian, Wyatt, Zayne). Darin (wife Erin, daughters Lilyana, Genevieve), and Russell (son DeVaughn). She poured her heart into her family, nurturing a loving home where laughter, guidance, and unconditional support were constants.
Susan was a gifted pianist and singer, sharing her talents generously throughout her life. As a high school student, she played for a charity organization, offering comfort through music. Her love for music carried into adulthood, where she often played for her church's opening ceremonies. As a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her with strength, compassion, and devotion.
Susan was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her brother James. She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering generosity. Her presence brought light into the lives of all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and kindness.
Though she is no longer with us, Susan's spirit lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the countless students whose lives she touched. Her memory will forever be a guiding light, reminding us to embrace life with dedication, passion, and love.
