Tammi Lynn Hartung, age 43, passed away on August 16, 2024, at Banner Boswell Hospital in Sun City, Arizona. Born on June 28, 1981, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Tammi grew up in Greenfield before moving to various places, including Wautoma, Wisconsin, Port Charlotte, Florida, and Buckeye, Arizona.
Tammi dedicated her career to crafting sandwiches at Cousins and Subway. A passionate wrestling fan, she found joy in lively conversations and shared moments with her cousin Paul, often watching matches together. Her love for wrestling was matched by her playful spirit; she delighted in teasing her grandmother and had a knack for keeping her family on their toes with her mischievous antics. She was also the biggest Green Bay Packer fan and rooted for them every chance she had.
Tammi’s adventurous side was evident in her love for fishing with her stepfather. One memorable ice fishing trip saw her hilariously entangled with a fish, which, in a comical twist of fate, ended up “kissing” her face as she stumbled in surprise.
Family was at the heart of Tammi’s life. She was a devoted daughter to her mother, Sally Kmiec, and a loving sister to Tanya Hartung (Bob). Tammi was a constant source of support during her mother’s heart surgery and cherished her role in caring for her beloved grandmother, Shirley Shonborn. The bond between Tammi and her grandmother was a special and enduring one.
Tammi is preceded in death by her stepfather Michael Kmiec, grandfathers Milton Shonborn & Joseph Carley; aunt Mildine Shonborn, and great-grandparents Sally and James Bailey and Harold & Jess Carley.
She leaves behind her mother Sally Kmiec, sister Tanya Hartung (Bob), grandmother Shirley Shonborn, stepmother, Mary Hartung; uncles James Bailey (Sheila), David Shonborn, and Michael Shonborn (Judy), cousins Michelle Garrett (Michael) and Paul Morton, godmother Julie Berry (Daniel), and dear friends Lauren Brost, Michael Foster, Aaron Wahl (Summer), along with her extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor and remember Tammi’s vibrant spirit and the joy she brought into the lives of those who knew her
