Beth Smith Owen, age 95, of Apopka, Florida went home to be with the Lord on the 25th of September, 2015. She spent her final days at home, allowing her to visit with her children and grandchildren up until she peacefully and painlessly entered Heaven’s gates. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Born December 29, 1919 in Dearborn, Michigan, Beth was the fifth oldest of thirteen children. After moving numerous times throughout her childhood, her family settled in Nashville, TN where she met her husband William (Bill) Cyrus Owen, Sr., marrying in 1940.
In 1943 Beth and her husband Bill moved to Orlando where he owned and operated Weld Rite Company until his death in 1970. They raised their five children in College Park where Beth continued to live until she moved to Apopka in 2013.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, with an open door, always willing to listen, was selflessly devoted to her family, with the ability to see past the flaws and find the good in others. She was a strong woman with a quick wit, an avid reader, loved to play cards and in her last years crocheted enough baby blankets for the next few generations.
