Carolyn Bradford Mitchell, 92, of Oakland, Florida, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025. She was born in Winter Garden, Florida on February 9, 1933. Carolyn graduated from Lakeview High School and briefly attended the University of Alabama. In 1953, Carolyn married Richard Steward Patrick “Peachy,” and from this marriage, the four Patrick sisters were born. After a divorce in 1963, Carolyn met Jim Mitchell who she married in 1966.
After high school and college, Carolyn worked at Citizens Bank in Orlando. Following the birth of her first child, she stayed at home with her children until her divorce. At that time, she returned to work as a secretary at Dillard Street Elementary. During her second marriage to Jim Mitchell, Carolyn helped his business occasionally with bookkeeping. Later she served as a corporate officer of Matrix Development, Inc.
Her community involvement included membership at First Baptist Church of Winter Garden and later Powers Drive Baptist Church; president of the Winter Garden Junior Service League and an avid bridge player at Winter Garden’s Tanner Auditorium.
Carolyn Mitchell was survived by her daughters: Beverly O’Brien, Carol Aders, Lynn Patrick and Dianne Rohrer; her sons-in-laws: Bobbi Aders and Hans Rohrer; her grandchildren: Alex Aders, Natalie Aders and Greta Rohrer.
Funeral services will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park in Gotha, Florida on Monday, August 25, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.
