Catherine Lyn Griffin

Born on June 10, 1954, in Loveland, Ohio, Cathy married the love of her life, David Griffin Sr., on April 2, 1972. She worked alongside David as a painter for nearly 20 years before embracing a new path in school administration. After years of dedicated service with Orange County Public Schools, Cathy retired from East River High School in 2023.

Cathy’s happiest times were spent with her family. Whether shopping, running errands, cooking meals, enjoying dinners out, or simply talking around the kitchen table, she created memories filled with love and laughter.

She leaves behind her husband of 52 years, David, and their children: David Jr. (Michele), Heather (Britton), Haley (Matt), and Hannah (Richard). Cathy was a proud grandmother to Madison, Jace, Mason, Wesley, Maci, Colton, and Dixon, and a great-grandmother to Delilah and Delaney. She is also survived by her siblings Robby, Bessie, Deaner, and Patty.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Coy and Lois (Tootsie), and her siblings Lester, Kenny, Coy Jr., and Bridgett.

A celebration of Cathy’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 14, at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL, 34734. Family will receive visitors from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
