Celia Marcella Roth, 92, passed on peacefully on the morning of February 11, 2014. She died in her home in Hyde Park Retirement Community, Winter Garden FL. Celia was born on November 11, 1921 in Chicago to parents Agatha and Francis Pieczatkiewicz, and had 7 siblings. She married John Roth on April 27, 1941. Celia worked at Best Paper Box, E. R. Moore Cap & Gown, Stewart Warner and Bankers Life & Casualty, all in Chicago. She and John had 4 children whom they loved dearly. In her retired life Celia was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Blue Ridge, Georgia where she sang in the choir. She kept a garden, was an active member of the church, and supported the March of Dimes. In 1995, Celia was widowed after a long and happy 53 year marriage to her husband John. By this time they had moved to Ocala to enjoy sunny Florida where Celia enjoyed swimming and collecting butterfly and angel items. She also loved putting puzzles together. A few years later, Celia moved to Winter Garden to be near her daughter, Patricia and family, who cared for her. Celia's deceased relatives are her siblings, John and Martha, and her children, John and Patricia. Celia is survived by her siblings Joseph, Frank, Helen, Anna, and Mary, and her daughters Carol and Cynthia. Her grandchildren are Stephen, Michele, Susan, Julie, and Glen. Her great grandchildren are Nicholas, Samantha, Alexandra, Allison, Jessica, Jamie, Ethan, Ella, and Raymond. We thank those volunteers at Seniors First who helped care for Celia. She very much appreciated their special considerations and interest in her. Celia also benefited from her kind neighbors who shared their time with her and helped whenever needed. Sisters Lois, Gerry, and Kathy came to visit Celia weekly to administer Communion. Thank you, Sisters. Finally, thank you to Father Moacir who gave Celia her final sacrament of Last Rites in October of last year. We all were touched by Celia's ever present good nature and robust laughter. We shall miss our beloved Celia dearly. A Mass will be held Mon., March 3 at 1 pm at Resurrection Catholic Church, Winter Garden and will be interred with her husband at Florida National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Woodlawn Funeral Home, Gotha, FL. Condolences may be offered at www.woodlawnfuneralhomegotha.com.
