Charles passed away peacefully September 16, 2015 after struggling with Alzheimers for many years. Charles was born September 9, 1934 in Washington DC to Delbert Sullivan and Elizabeth Ada (Green) Thomas. His happiest childhood memories were at the family farm in Brooke, VA with brother, Lloyd, and cousins Annie, Shirley, Mary Jane, Nancy, and Joyce. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Cecile (Barksdale) Sullivan, children Charles Jr. (Sandra), and Cathleen (Robert) Mark. Charles adored his grandchildren Stephanie Walker, Bobby Jr. (Shayla) Mark, Charles III (deceased), Colleen (Billy) Powers, and Scott (Megan) Mark, and great-grandchildren Hannah, Jackson, Alexis, Aaliyah, Chloe, Alyssa, and baby Ben. Charles was proud of his military service having retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant in 1974. He will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery.
