

Our dear Charlotte passed away peacefully on August 20, 2018 at 10:57 pm at the age of 91.
She was born in Martinsburg, West Virginia on May 24, 1927 and then moved to Washington, DC at the age of 8 months old where she was raised by her mother and father Franklin J. Otto and Harriet M. Kish. Later she met and married the love of her life of almost 68 years, John E. Metzger. They had two children, Sharon Metzger Rhoda, and Douglas C. Metzger-MIles.
Lottie's life was filled with her love of family, church and music where she sang in the choir at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Washington, DC. and also in the New Dimension singers in Maryland.
In 1978 she moved to Hillsborough, NJ and attended MEFC church for 38 years, where she sang in the choir and was a soloist. She was also very active in the Christian Women's club, serving as president for several years in central New Jersey. She was very active and a big support in her community.
Lottie was a very active woman in sports such as downhill skiing, and she taught both of her children which she learned while living in Germany. She also played tennis, bowling and her true love was golf, alongside of her husband. She played golf in several leagues in Central Jersey and for years in the winter in Florida. She was known to out drive many male players.
Her love for her family was taking care of her husband, daughter and son and in later years she was dedicated to her grandchildren Matthew and Hannah. She loved her son-in-law’s who became her best friends.
Lottie's love for God and her country were strong and always voiced.
She had an amazing life traveling the world with her husband while her love remained for her children and friends. She also had a strong love for animals. She was also a mother figure to many of Doug and Sharon's friends.
She taught her children that friends and family were important. Her love for God was unyielding.
Lottie is preceded in death by her father, Franklin J. Otto, her Mother, Harriett M. Kish, her brothers , Floyd Otto and Glenn Jordan, and son-in- law, Kurt Rhoda.
She is survived by her husband, John E Metzger of Winter Garden FL, Daughter, Sharon Metzger Rhoda of Pasadena , MD, Son, Douglas C Metzger-Miles of Winter Garden, FL, Son- in-law, Jeff Metzger-MIles of Winter Garden FL. her Grandchildren, Matthew Rhoda of Hopewell, NJ and Hannah Rhoda of Windermere, FL, 2 nieces, 4 nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
The Memorial Celebration of her life will be held September 15, 2018 at 10 am at the Windermere Baptist Chapel. 436 Oakdale Street. Windermere, F L 34786
