POEM by Clark's wife Jeanne A. Anderson:
LOSING CLARK
Clark has left us here on Earth;
73 years from his birth;
Peaceful, pain-free; he's now sleeping,
While many people here are weeping.
Two long months he had been sick;
The illness was too great to lick;
But Clark faced everything with grace;
And with contentment on his face.
By his side, his loved ones stayed;
Other friends and family prayed;
And for awhile he gained some ground,
But he was clearly Heaven-bound.
As Clark approached the door of death,
And as he drew his last small breath,
Adoring fingers stroked his head;
Until the nurse pronounced him dead.
Orlando is his place of rest,
And we who knew him have been blessed;
Blessed to be his friend for life;
Blessed to be his child or wife;
And by his upbeat attitude;
And his awesome gratitude;
Blessed to be his pal or friend,
And to be with him 'til the end.
We're trying not to be so sad;
And for his own sake, feel glad,
That suffering will find him never,
And he is with the Lord forever.
Jeanne A. Anderson
