Conchita Docal

Conchita Docal, age 95, of Winter Springs, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. She was born in Havana, Cuba on June 1, 1929 to parents Pilar Bretaña Novoa and Pedro Tesoro Cid. She received an accounting degree from Escuela Profesional de Comercio. She married Orlando Docal Puig on October 4, 1958.

On January 6, 1961, Conchita and Orlando left Cuba because of the political unrest and moved to Washington, DC. Through their hard work and dedication to succeed in their beloved new country, they lived the American dream and moved to Maryland where they bought their home. The family grew from one to three children. They were also able to help get other family members out of Cuba. As time went by they never forgot about the family members that remained and tried to help in whatever ways they could.

Conchita adored her family and absolutely treasured her grandchildren. She was a devoted homemaker and worked in various positions throughout her working years. She enjoyed crafts, primarily painting ceramics and knitting and is well known for her fabulous flan recipe.

She is survived by her 3 children, Alina (WIlliam) Dormady, Orlando F. (Deborah) Docal and Eduardo (Barbara) Docal, her 7 grandchildren, Maria Docal, Theresa Docal, Edward Dormady, Emily Dormady, Olivia Docal, Adrian Docal and Ory Docal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orlando Docal and her siblings, Jesus Tesoro Bretaña, Jose Tesoro Bretaña, Ricardo Tesoro Bretaña and Dolores Tesoro Bretaña.

A visitation for Conchita will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. A committal service will occur Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Rd, Gotha, FL 34734.
