

Nick had the best sense of humor and the biggest heart. He was the greatest storyteller. He lived a life of service, after attending Dexter Regional High, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, became a Newport Police Officer in Newport, Maine and then resumed his military service in the United States Army to fulfill a long and faithful career as a Master Paratrooper and Pathfinder Branch Chief until he retired in 1996. He spent the next 20 years as a Senior Instructor for the EST system where he traveled around the world and instructed both military and law enforcement.
Nick was a devoted husband and son, a loving father, an amazing brother and most beloved "Paw Paw" to his 5 grandchildren.
Nick was welcomed into heaven by his beloved mother, Pauline, his brother, Joseph his niece, Padra and his father in law and mother in law, Raymond and Anna Marie.
Nick is survived by his beloved wife, Paula Fletcher, his beloved daughters, Tonya Caisse and Nicole Caisse-Wells, son in law, Brett R. Wells and his beloved grandchildren, Caleb, Graciela, Gavin, Gage and Sasha. He was also survived by his sisters, Sue Duplisea (Craig) and Laurie Caisse (Mark), sister in laws, Cindy Reese (Jim), and Shelley Griffiths (Tom), nephews, Tim Caisse (Justine), Raymond Griffiths, Joshua Reese (Brittany), Jeremy Reese (Samille) and niece Julia Griffiths.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
