(Con't from prev.)...that nothing impressed her. She had a blast too. That meant the world to both of us. I remembered when we took them to Destin, FL to the Military's MWR Beach Facility for a vacation one school vacation and how much fun it was. I remember saving for Christmas presents for them just to see the joy on their faces as they opened them and how we shared in each other's joy from that. I remembered all the times we threw darts together, all the Military parachute jumps we made together and the trip we took together to Canada to earn our Canadian Parachutist badges. I can always look at at our display of military parachutist badges from around the world that we collected together, some earned, some from your students, and remember you and us. I'm surrounded by memories and grateful to God for them,  but they're not YOU and never will be.😭 Still, I will try always to focus on the good times. I love you always and forever. I can only now write this today. I couldn't write anything hardly at all on the anniversary of your Heavenly installment and yesterday I got halfway through and had to stop. When I went back to it, I had lost all that I had written. I spent your anniversary remembering not all the pain and sorrow of your final year, but rather all the many good times there were. Like being able to comfort a nervous child and preteen after they came to us by doing something as simple as taking them to McDonald's for dinner. All we wanted to show them was that they were loved and safe now. You missed them so very much and talked about them daily! I still have a picture in my picture bag that is put away of you on the phone with one or both of them, smiling from ear to ear. I'm not quite ready to go through those pictures yet. Please forgive me. I remembered taking them to their new Aunt Cindy's, Uncle Jim's, Josh's and Jeremy's house for Christmas the year they came in 1988-the year after we met. Only 3 Disney Parks were open the ; the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and MGM Studios. I know that Universal's Islands of Adventure hadn't been conceived yet though I think Universal Studios was open. Disney's Animal Kingdom was still a long way off. We could only afford to go to one park, so we chose the Magic Kingdom because Coco wasn't yet old enough to fully appreciate either EPCOT or MGM and everyone has to go to the Magic Kingdom at least once in their lives and all ages can enjoy it. It was your first time too! Despite the rain, weather in the 50°s and the fact that we all had to wear rain ponchos all day, we had a blast! BIG plus, especially during the Christmas Season-NO
LINES!!!  I have a couple of pictures from that day too. The biggest plus for the two of us wasn't the park, by far, especially you. It was watching the joy and wonder on the girls' faces as they rode each new ride or saw each new attraction. Thankfully,  Tonya wasn't QUITE yet a teenager who had to pretend that...(con't)

I just listened to your voice on my voicemail.
I’ve only been able to a couple times since you gained your wings. This past month has been the most difficult one for me thus far. I think of you all the time, I talk to you as if you were here. My head knows you’re gone but my heart has yet to catch up. Having lost both you and Momma, it’s changed how I see the world…it’s changed how I love, it’s changed how I look towards the future. I will forever miss you and wish we could’ve had more time. Gage more and more each day reminds of you. Your facial expressions especially.🤭

💔314 days…There are daily reminders of your absence…but there are constant reminders of your presence. Sasha is always looking up and talking and hand gesturing. I know shes talking to you because she smiles when I point to your portrait. No matter how much pain comes from your loss the love you left behind is far greater.💔🩷✝️

It’s April first…five whole months without you. I’ve needed your wisdom more times than I can count. I talk to you a lot, especially in the car. I’ll hear a new song and my first thought is “Daddy would love this song”. I get sad, then the anger comes and the fact that you should be here amplifies it all the more. Knowing you’re no longer a phone call away kills me! I don’t have the heart to delete your cell number from my important contacts…I just can’t.🥺 Gavin turns 10 today! He’s your absolute twin. He likes guns and man does he have your personality.  Your sweet Graciela turned 11 last weekend, she also made the  Honor Roll at school, you’d be so proud.🥹  I miss you so much my heart hurts. I love you Daddy, to the Moon and back.✝️

Hello in heaven. My Love my Life. I hope you're really livening the place up! I know you so well. Remember the time I came into Hugh's walking on field dressings because, like a fool, I did a ten mile ruck run, on sand,, in brand new jungle boots with the nylon woven insoles and lost all the skin on the bottoms of both feet at that year's ROTC Ranger Challenge? 1987, I think? You took one look at them, winced, said "Ouch" and then "Oh well, you're just going to have to suck it up! Come to the table and I'll pour you a drink!" Classic you.  I have soooooo many good memories of you and that's what I'm focusing on now. All the many, many good times! I think about you constantly and miss you every day. Live it up, Sweetheart! You're my one and only and I'll love you until we meet again!

Nick, From the moment Mike introduced us at the drop zone, I felt like I'd known you my whole life, like family. Even after we moved, our phone calls were often long and extended into the night.  Thirty years you gave us more than a friendship; we became family. We miss you so very much.  Love you 🙏🙏😥♥️

I’ll miss you Uncle Nick. I remember the first time I met you as a young boy and I was a rambunctious nudist and you and Aunt Paula weren’t ready for that. I’ll always miss you on the holidays and our not very politically correct conversations and the stories you’d tell. Now I’ve just got to do my best to not offend everyone and bring up stuff without you around now. I know you’re in a better place now and watching over us, and I thank you for that. Nick, you were always a gentleman and a scholar. I have nothing but fond memories of you and the utmost respect. It was an honor and  privilege to know Nick. I remember a lot of the advice he gave me and the kindness he showed by letting me stay with him,  Paula, and Nicole  when I needed it. He treated me like a son and I appreciate everything he did for me. I will always remember his humor,  kindness,  and strength.  But what I'll remember the most is that he was like family to me and I know he felt the same,  no matter the time or distance and for that I will always be grateful.

It was both an honor and privilege to have known Nick. From helping me solve so, so many of my computer/Internet issues to teaching me the proper way to operate a handgun, he was a go-to guy for so many things. I will be forever in his thanks. Uncle Nick had a way of making life feel brighter, no matter the circumstances. I remember cherished moments spent with him at family gatherings, where his laughter would fill the room and his stories would capture everyone’s attention. He always had a piece of wisdom tucked into those stories—simple but powerful advice.  His words have stayed with me, guiding me through life's challenges with a sense of gratitude and perspective. Uncle Nick didn’t just share advice; he lived it, teaching us all to cherish the small joys in life. His warmth and wisdom will stay with us forever.

It was about 16 years ago I was working at a local gun & pawn shop & range, this guy walked in, I said hello how can I help you my name is Artie, we shook hands he told me his name was Nick Chase. He was looking for a certain item and I help them find it.that hour was the beginning of a 16 year friendship of doing business together shooting together Sharing wonderful stories and wonderful laughs. I will miss him dearly. May you rest in peace nick I’m glad i went to visit you that one more time? My condolences to your family god bless 🙏

Nick, a good human being, I have known him for more than 15 years and his friendship is unique. I had the opportunity to learn from his adventures in the Marines and I thank God for knowing him. He will forever be in our hearts.

Our Christmases were always so special,  surrounded by our loving family. I only wish that Coco and the grandchildren could've been there  and of course, Tonya for the last couple of years. We were blessed to have her there with us for so long.  You get to celebrate Jesus' birthday in Heaven now. I'm glad that you had loved ones waiting for you when you got there. I love you always and forever!

Hi Honey! It's me again. I've got another funny memory for you. Remember when you and I took Coco blackberry picking on Fort Benning? She was working on her own blackberry bush when it started shaking violently.  She jumped backwards almost 10 full feet across that dirt tank trail that was there! I remember how much we laughed. Coco too once she got over her fright. I will ALWAYS remember the good times we had together. I love you always and forever!

My husband and I so loved hearing Nick’s stories at family get togethers. He was a great story teller! I would often sit next to him at dinner just to hear them. 
I once asked him, “How was it raising Tonya?” (She was the only one I had met at the time and I could see so much of her dad in her) He said, “How long ya got?” 😆
He is, and will always be, greatly missed…

Hey Honey! It's your loving wife. Do you remember when You, Tonya and I were standing in the backyard of our quarters on Fort Benning and Chuffer and Lady were running around at top speed? Tonya was standing there with a drink in her right hand. The dogs ran top speed into her legs and she landed flat on her front and didn't even spill her drink! I miss all the good times we had together!💔

I just recently heard of Nick's passing and would like to add my sincere condolences to those who mourn his loss.
While it's been nearly 50 years since we were last together,  his memory is easy to recall. Two things stand out. He was quick with a grin and Never did anything partway. What he was able to accomplish in his distinguished military career is just tangible proof of that fact. I knew him as a Good man. I'm sure he was a great husband and loving dad and undoubtedly an amazing grandfather. I trust his Pathfinder skills and his faith led him safely Home. Sincerely, Paul W. Black

Our Nick was an amazing man. He was a loving husband, father, patriot and a great uncle to our 2 boys.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew  and loved him.  No matter what the conversation was, you always knew where Nick stood.  He sure had a way with words!
We know he is at peace with our Lord and Savior.

Nick was our beloved brother-in-law and friend. He was a loving, kind, and generous Uncle and role model for our children. I’m still trying to make sense of all this. Learning how to exist in a world without you in it. You were my sounding board, you gave me perspective on difficult situations. I’ll forever miss our 3 hour long conversations on the phone and our 30 minute goodbyes. lol Your love for your 5 grandchildren was strong and steady and I know you’re watching over them and probably shaking your head on occasion. I’m so PROUD to be your daughter and lucky I get to call you Daddy. Thank you for being the Sentinel of our family, for being the example of what a good man is. If your loss has shown me anything it’s that you had a far greater impact on people than we thought. The outpouring of love and respect shown to you has only confirmed what I already know, you made a mark on this world and while your light no longer shines here on earth it beams from the heavens.
I love you Daddy, rest now and until we are reunited keep watch and guide us all from up there.

Nick was truly one in a million. He had a genuine wit and was a friend to all but the the vey few who dared to piss him off.
How the poor man ever put up with his wife and I, who in our early years, were quite boisterous will always amaze me. I still remember Paula and I painting his toenails while he slept before he'd have to drill his PT troops. It was predawn hours and we knew he'd never figure it out until it was too late. He took that and a lot more with a grain of salt. Always a stand up guy who didn't even mind a practical joke when it was played on him. 
 I loved listening to his endless, fascinating stories about his time in the military and life in general. It was one of the things I looked forward to when visiting his wife, Paula, who has been my best friend since second grade. 
 I'll never forget your true kindness for bringing Paula to stay with me at the drop of a hat in my time of need. I know you needed her too but were willing to give up that time with her to help me. 
 Nick, you'll live on in my heart forever. Heaven is lucky to have gained another Angel in the form of a 'Bouncer'.

Daddy, I don't know what to say right now, but I'll try my best. Losing you has left a gaping hole in my heart and I don't know what to do with my heartbreaking sadness. I have millions of wonderful memories with you and I look to them to ease this soul-crushing pain that I can't escape from. You are the best Father that a Daughter could ever have been blessed with and I will proudly carry that honor with me forever. Nick I remember the pizza parlor. First time and last time I ever delivered pizza for anyone . You will be missed and I know that you were loved I am sure that your family will miss you greatly and I send prayers to everyone.
