

Edna Mary Keene Dyer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away after an illness on April 4, 2011. She was born on April 11, 1928 in Winter Garden and was a lifelong resident of Orange County. After graduating Lakeview High School she worked as a telephone operator until she met her husband of 46 years, Norman H. Dyer until his death in 1994. Her most important role in life was household administrator to her husband and two sons. She is preceded in death by her father Guy Leeb Keene and mother Annie Mae Rushing, sister Margaret Boss, and brother Allan Keene. Survivors include her brother Lawrence and sister-n-law Myrtle Keene, son Norman H. Dyer, Jr. (Joyce) of Louisville, Kentucky, son Hal R. Dyer (Debi) of Orlando, Florida, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
A private service with close friends and family will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Chapel whereby she will be transported and laid to rest in the Dyer Family Cemetery in the small panhandle community of Rock Bluff, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, and the fact that Mrs. Dyer was an eighteen year cancer survivor, contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
She will be greatly missed for her big smile, constant generosity and her desire to always be looking for life’s best medicine, a quick laugh.
