Sims, Emery S. (Pete) Jr., 89, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 8, 2012. He was born in Smyrna, Georgia on April 3, 1923 to Emery Sr. and Corrie Sims. They moved to Orlando when he was 2 yrs old. Emery is survived by his wife, Frances, daughter, Sarah, sons, Emery III (Deanna), John Sr. (Morri), and Brad (Kelli), brothers Charlie and James, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. Emery served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the first group of seamen trained with radar. Afterwards he went on to graduate from Stetson University. He worked for Farm Bureau Insurance Co. and later opened an accounting practice and retired in 2006. Emery was a member of S. Bumby Church of Christ. Funeral Services will be held at Woodlawn Memorial on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at 2:00 pm with interment immediately following.
