Enive Stuppard was born in St. Marc, Haiti on October 15, 1950 to the proud parents of Maurice Pierre and Marie Gracieuse Stuppard. She was the second of nine children. Since childhood Enive was always a loving, caring and giving person who always focused on helping her parents. Along with her sister Nicole she helped her mother raise her siblings Daniel, Franz, Serge, Charles, Ernst, Alphonse and Lydia.
When Enive was 14 she met the man whom she just knew in her heart that she was going to marry. He made her heart flutter every time she saw him. Several years later her desire came true and she married the love of her life Josue Coicou and in time Gracieuse Lydie was born.
Enive and her husband came to the United States of America to continue a life of prosperity with great education. Family meant everything to Enive. Her Family and their Love was her world. In 1973 Thamar was born and soon after Rachel then Gloria came along. One of the best things that Enive has done as a mother is to establish a very personal relationship with each of her daughters to make them feel like they were the only one that mattered in the world and that each one of them was her favorite daughter. As her children had children, Kleckner, Shaquille, Daniel, Derek and Joshua, she was very happy that they were all very intelligent and LOVED their grandma.
Enive LOVED her siblings incredibly like it was nobody’s business. Each one of them held an extra special place in her heart and as they got married, she earned the love of their spouses as well: Leon Eddie, Marise, Martine, Esther, Nidda, Yvette and Paul. She loved them like her very own. Enive also had very special cousins who made her laugh all the time. She loved all of them very much.
Enive pursued an education in nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse. She worked at the Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan for over 22 years in different adult and pediatric units. Her last leadership position was in the pediatric oncology unit where she was most senior, most resourceful and one of the best nurses on the unit.
When she retired from her fruitful career as a Registered Nurse, Enive and her husband decided to build a vacation home in Orlando, Florida. She determined she had enough of the freezing temperatures and blizzards of New York and would travel back and forth during the warm seasons. During her lifetime Enive thrived, was happy and kept in touch with all family members daily.
We honor Enive S. Coicou today as we celebrate her home-going. We celebrate this day because we know without a shadow of a doubt that she LOVED her Jesus Christ and she is home with Him right now in peace and in rest. Nounoune will be missed incredibly by all. Everyone who knew Nounoune will miss her…
We Love You Mommy…
