Erik Sven Barquist

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and devoted physician, Dr. Erik Sven Barquist, on February 17, 2026, at the age of 65.

Erik was a remarkable man whose life was defined by unwavering love for his family, profound dedication to his patients, and a career of selfless service in trauma surgery and surgical critical care. He will be forever cherished and deeply missed by all who knew him—family, friends, colleagues, and the many lives he touched through his compassionate care and expertise.

We are immensely grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, support, and kind words we have received during this difficult time. Your kindness has been a source of great comfort as we grieve this tremendous loss.

A memorial service to celebrate Erik's life and legacy will be held on April 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Belle Isle Community Church, located at 731 Fairlane Avenue, Orlando, FL 32809.

All who knew and loved Erik are warmly invited to attend and join us in honoring his memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions to the EAST Development Fund (Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma), which supports research, surgical education, leadership development, awards, scholarships, and programs that advance trauma care, injury prevention, and the training of future trauma leaders—areas deeply aligned with Erik's lifelong commitment to the field.
