

Frank S. Prah, 95, of New Smyrna Beach, Fl. passed away on September 25, 2011. Mr. Prah was born in Cleveland,Ohio to John and Jane Prah. Mr. Prah was retried from the U.S. Airforce. He first served overseas in the Infantry on Corregidor.After seven months he was transferred to Clark Field and became a member of a flying combat crew as an aerial gunner, he remained at Clark Field until the outbreak of the war. Mr. Prah was a prisoner of war arriving in Japan in October 1942,after a forty five day voyage. While in Japan he was held in three different camps and spent three months in a Tokyo hospital becuase of illnesses resulting from bad conditions of the prison camps.During the time as a prisoner he wighed only 79 pounds. Mr. Prah was very proud of his military background. He is survived by son Frank (Lisa) Prah Jr.; David (Sharon) Prah, eight grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. He was predeceased by his WIFE Edith B. Prah, daughter Patricia Guise and brother John J. Prah Jr.A visitation will be held on Wednesday September 28, 2011 from 1-2pm with a service to follow at 2:00pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
