

Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, Dr. Roy E. Baker Jr. She is lovingly remembered by her brother, Willis E. Rhoads (Janis); her children, Roy E. Baker III(Gary), Keith Baker (Cindy), and Rebecca Saunders (Tim); her grandchildren, Matthew Saunders, Joshua Baker, and Bethany Baker; and her great-granddaughter, Amelia Saunders.
Upon her marriage to a young preacher from Gosnell, Arkansas, Roy E. Baker Jr., she joyfully served by his side as both a pastor’s wife and church pianist/organist to several churches from Arkansas to Florida. She was also a dedicated professional, Gwendolyn worked as an automotive accountant for over forty years. She was a faithful member of First Orlando for 38 years.Beyond her career, she found joy in reading and playing the piano. Above all else, she cherished time spent with her family and took immense pride in loving and supporting her grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, Gotha, Florida on January 9, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place immediately after the service.
Gwendolyn’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her legacy of faith, love, and devotion bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
