Heba Guidice (née Hanna) was born on June 4, 1976, in Egypt to her parents, Soheir Abadir and Sabry Matta Hanna, and her older sisters Hanan Fahim and Samah Boutros. She later welcomed a younger brother Mature Hanna. Heba's life was very modest as her dad passed away when she was only 6 years old and she started experiencing severe medical issues that plagued her as a child. Heba's family then moved to Toronto, Canada where she helped raise her nieces Christine and Carolyne until she moved to the United States. She was also an amazing aunt to Sarah, Silvia, Michael, and Samuel.
Heba was always in the pursuit of family, and later had her two sons, David and Daniel. She taught them values based on being pure hearted, kind, loving, thoughtful, polite, accepting, and Christlike person. The word "Christlike" was one she used daily, and this reflected in how she lived her life while caring for others. She met her soul sisters Beth, Angel, Janelle, Michelle, and Marcy while living in Florida, who became her support and community away from home. She loved her family and friends and always showed up for others, listened with an open mind, never judged, provided advice based on love and wisdom, sent encouragement, and followed up with every person she knew who needed help.
While raising her boys, she met the love of her life, Mike Guidice at the age of 39. Shortly after, Heba's lung collapsed and she began her struggle with Lung and auto-immune disorders that would impact her for the rest of her life. While Heba was a gift to the world (living up to her name which means "gift" in Arabic), Mike was a gift to her; he made her laugh and remained her unwavering rock through years of illness and hospitalizations, standing by her and her sons with steady love throughout her transplant journey. He remained by her side every day, caring for her and others the way she would have cared for them herself.
Heba never let her illnesses impact her ability to live her life. She always went the extra mile for her family and friends, even when it was difficult for her physically. She rarely let others know how severe her symptoms were and was a beacon of light and hope to everyone around her. Heba loved to travel the world and live her life to the fullest. She was also an incredible employee and manager at Darden, where she led a wonderful team for 22 years. While raising her children, caring for her beloved dog Cooper, working, and being an amazing and dedicated wife and friend—all while dealing with severe illness—Heba accomplished more than most people could endure. She went above and beyond, serving her community and volunteering at church as a leader of the women’s care group. She even completed her degree in business at Valencia college as she was determined to be a role model to her sons and was always looking to deepen her knowledge and develop her skills. Everything Heba took on, she did with absolute love, dedication, and utmost thoughtfulness.
During her final journey at Mayo Clinic, Heba relied on her unwavering faith to provide her with peace and strength to fight one last time for her family and friends. She gave it absolutely all she had and made a massive impact on the Mayo team, inspiring her doctors, nurses, technicians, physical therapists, and everyone in her presence. Her perseverance, faith, and amazing character was evident to everyone around her and inspired the medical team to go above and beyond with her care. She passed away peacefully on April 19 surrounded by love in the presence of her husband, sons, best friends, and nieces.
Though she will be profoundly missed, her light remains in every heart she touched. The greatest tribute we can offer is to carry that light forward; honoring her legacy of being the greatest gift of all. By moving through the world with her same love, forgiveness, thoughtfulness, hard work, dedication, kindness, humility and brilliance, we ensure her spirit lives on in everyone we meet.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Discovery Church, 4064 Winter Garden Vineland Road, Winter Garden, Florida 34787, on May 15, 2026, at 11:00 am.
