The journey “Home” began when Herbert Anderson was born to Thomas Anderson and Rose Batiste on 23 August 1925 Sangre Grande, Trinidad, West Indies (W.I.). He grew up there with his
parents, one brother and two sisters. Mr. Anderson was baptized and received his formal education in the Roman Catholic School in Sangre Grande. After completing his education, Herbert began at an early age to find his way in the world. He worked many jobs, including being a taxi driver. Wanting more, he then became a common law husband to Marie Beatrice Francois. They had a daughter, Marva Louise Francois, who was his pride and joy. Because of his ambition to discover the rest of the world, he migrated to London, where he married Maisie Olga Anderson. He finally moved to the United States and worked for Anheuser-Busch in New Jersey, working in the shipping and handling department. At his retirement, he moved to Orlando, Florida where he built his dream home and happily settled with his wife, Masie. He loved gardening and was proud of his ‘green thumb’. He also enjoyed driving fine cars. Herbert had a passion for life, and he thoroughly enjoyed traveling with his wife. He enjoyed the finer things.
Those welcoming him “Home” are: his parents, Thomas and Rose and his sisters, Lucita and Ancela. Those continuing their journey are: his wife, Masie Anderson; his wife’s nephew Llewellyn Dawkins; his brother Isaac Anderson of Trinidad, West Indies; his daughter Marva Louise Francois Wilfred (Dennis) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; his step-children Luciana Francois and Trevor Francois; his grandchildren, Marvin Arthur and Daniel Wilfred; his granddaughter Natalie Flood and her children; great granddaughter, Jada Arthur; nephews Roger and Ricky and their mother Mary; his nieces Dulah and Vero, and many other nieces and nephews. He is also remembered by his friends, Mr. Garvin and Myrtle Harrison, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Trim, Horace and Fedricka Samms, and his wonderful neighbors for so many years.
On 18 February, 2015, Mr. Herbert Anderson peacefully exchanged time for eternity at Avante Nursing Center in Orlando, Florida. Farewell, Herbert. We truly love you and will miss you greatly. Peace and love!

I’m Free
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free,
I’m following the path God has laid you see,
I took His hand when I heard Him call;
I turned my back and left it all, I could not stay another day,
to laugh, to love, to work, to play;
I found peace the close of this day.
If my parting has left a void,
then fill it with remembered joy,
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you sunshine of tomorrow,
My life’s been full, I savored much, good friends,
good family, a loved one’s touch,
Perhaps to you my time seemed all too brief,
don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to Thee,
God wants me now,
HE SET ME FREE.
