Ionie Fisher, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, slipped away into the arms of our Heavenly Father on June 2nd, 2024. She was 76 years old. Born Ionie Solomon on the 1st of August 1947 in Ulster Spring, Trelawny, Jamaica, she was the last of eight children for her parents, Admire and Lewis Solomon.
Ionie married Roy Fisher in October 1969 and together they shared three lovely children. Ionie was a devoted mother who cherished her family above all else, always putting their needs and happiness before her own. As the matriarch, she taught each member of her family the value of integrity, hard work, and caring for their friends and family. Her nurturing spirit, infinite wisdom, and kindness were the cornerstones of her family life. It is this same spirit that led her to open, and operate the Ionie Assisted Living I and II facilities for over 25 years. She deeply cared for her residents as she would treat them as she did her own children; she was deeply passionate about their care and well-being.
Ionie had a unique ability to make everyone feel special and loved. Through simple conversations she would ascertain the needs of others and would share the smallest of items with her friends. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue through those she loved.
Her dedication to serving the Lord at her home Church, El Bethel Temple of Orlando where she attended for over 30 years was also evident in everything she did. She was a staple at the First Harvest Food Bank each week, a ministry of her church and was the leader for the committee that planned the annual Pastor’s Appreciation celebrations. She was dedicated to serving! She was a visionary and stood by the promises of her favorite bible verse Habakuk 2v2 2 And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. It became the foundation of her business ventures or all life decisions.
Ionie is preceded by her late husband, Roy Fisher. She is survived by her children, Carol, Roy Jr. and Willie. Grandchildren Tatianna, Shaquille, Miles, Bryce, Anika, Paige, Imani, Adhana and great grandchild Aaliyah, other relatives and friends.
