

James Randall Holmes
March 16th 1946 - March 5th 2016
James Randall Holmes, age 69, passed away on Saturday, March 5th 2016, in the comfort of his home with family in Ocoee Fl. James was born in Americus, Georgia on March 16th, 1946 to Carl L. and Arlene Randall Holmes. He is preceded in death by his father, Carl L. Holmes and grandparents Raymond and Maggi Randall. James married Cheri Jarvis on November 27th, 1982, whom he leaves to cherish his memory along with his mother, Arlene Holmes Brown, his children Rhasson Small, Hayley Raynor, Carley Holmes, and Dr. Ashley Holmes-Rutledge (Devan), his siblings Elaine H. Scott and Jeffery Holmes, his grandchildren Jason Mark Ferguson Jr., Cheri Ferguson, William Raynor, MeLisa Raynor, Nevaeh Gray, Hayley Raynor and Madyson Gray, Father in-Law Richard Esbrandt, Sister in-law Joanne Finch and Brother in-law Steven Esbrandt (Cindy) and his beloved dog Diva. James is also remembered by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and his lifelong friends.
James received his education at East Orange High School, and attended North Carolina A&T College. Lieutenant James R Holmes retired from the Trenton State College Police Department after 20 years of service. He enjoyed activities such as bowling, playing tennis and cards, watching his favorite football teams; the NY Giants and Florida Gators, fishing, doing yard work and being the best host for family and friends.
James’ memorial service will take place on Saturday March 12th, 2016 at 2pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, a reception will follow the ceremony. His family and friends would like to say a special thank you to the nurses Belinda and David from Kindred Hospice for helping peacefully usher James home, as well as the nurses and therapy staff at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Altamonte Spring and Davita in Ocoee. We would also like to say a special thank you to the staff at Woodlawn Memorial Park for their assistance in making this process during this difficult time easier to manage.
