Jane Buchanan

BUCHANAN, JANE H., 80, of Orlando, FL; long-time resident of Baptist Terrace and The Commons at Lutheran Towers; passed away on May 2, 2013, at The Commons. Jane was born on February 20, 1933 in Mooresville, NC to the late Thomas and Beatrice (Bass) Hill. At the time of her passing, Mrs. Buchanan was a member of Delaney Street Baptist Church; enjoyed studying the Bible and previously taught the ladies Sunday School class at Pine Castle First Baptist Church and Conway First Baptist Church; was Vice President of Freedom Banks Card Services Center prior to her early retirement; preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Calvin D. Buchanan; grandson, William C. Buchanan; siblings, Mary E. Shepard, Letty M. Hampton, Mildred D., Henry V. and Thomas E. Hill. Survivors include son, Robert T. (Karan Holley) Buchanan, daughters, Sheila B. (Larry) Williams, Constance B. (Bruce) Easterling; sister, Sarah E. “Libby” Blanton; grandchildren, Karen M. O’Day, Kevin D. (Heather Rohland) Easterling, Cynthia E. (Andrew) Wilkes, Nancy K. Cason, Emily M. (Michael) Spivey, Candice J. (Nicholas) Williams; great-grandchildren, Victoria L. and Ryan T. O’Day, Alaina J. and Andrea R. Easterling, Joel C. Wilkes, Joseph W. Easterling, Isaiah S. and Mason M. Williams. Jane was affectionately known as “Nanny” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
