Jennifer you were a delight to be around and to have known.  I'm so happy we got to hang out this summer at Vero Beach, you left us all with great memories of you. 
Your spirit was beautiful, and your soul showed up in your smile, no one could ever have known how truly sick you were.
   I know that you will be missed by so many that loved you, friends, family and son's we are all feeling heartbroken. 
 Although I only knew you for a short time, you taught me how life should be lived, and that is not to take anything for granted live it until the very end and live it happy. 
 My wife Olga and her family are like family to yours, and they will miss you dearly.

As a child, I loved going to Florida every summer to see my four cousins but Jennifer and I always seemed to gravitate towards one another. I loved talking to her because she made me laugh and intrigued me with her storytelling skills. 

Once we became teenagers, we had wished we lived closer to spend more time together. Since we didn't, we decided to become pen pals. Throughout the year, we'd catch up via hand written letters. ✍️ That kept us content. 

As we got older, we created families & allowed life to takeover, barely seeing each other anymore. 

Fast forward to now, I found out cancer was invading her body despite having treatment. At that point, I knew I had to see her, spend time together & create new memories. I wanted to be of service, however she needed me. 

So, I flew down, rented a car and got a nearby hotel. We hung out & had interesting conversations. She shared the time-line of her health, her fears & concerns. It was so intimate. She also let me know I can ask her whatever I wanted. I felt blessed by that, her willingness to satiate any curiosities I might have had . She totally embraced my presence. She was in a very vulnerable state yet expressed she wanted me there. 
After a couple of days, she began to decline drastically. Witnessing this process, brought me right back to when my dad was experiencing the same. In a weird way, I was happy to have been familiar with the process b/c I was able to pinpoint the changes in her with a knowing of what would be next. Even when she reached the point of being non verbal, she was receptive with me. She'd let me know she heard me, especially those moments when trying to administer her meds. I whispered in her ear that I recognized the warrior in her and how proud I was of her. She barely had any strength, yet tried her best to cooperate and continue to fight. Honestly speaking, I did not think I'd lose my cousin during this visit. I'm just grateful to have spent the last week of her life with her.  🌻
