

Dr. Jerold Jerry Fadem, Sr., 87, of Orlando passed away peacefully Thursday, May 4, 2017 at his home with his loving family by his side. Jerry was born Nov. 15, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri. Upon being drafted into the U.S. Navy, Jerry served his country completing two tours of duty during the Korean War. In between tours, he graduated from Washington University in St. Louis and went on to Medical School. After graduating from University of Missouri Medical School and completing his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Dr. Fadem moved his family to Orlando in 1962 to set up his practice of Neurology and Internal Medicine. He served at ORMC for 55 years, holding positions of Chief of Staff and Chief of Medicine. After retiring from his medical practice at the age of 75, he successfully established and ran Central Florida Injury and Rehab - he was a self-described entrepreneur. Jerry had many varied interests including the mastery of computers, reading, golf, water skiing, the Orlando Magic and even completed a year of on- line law school at the age of 76. Dr. Fadem was very active in the community and served as Councilman for the City of Edgewood, President of the Pine Castle YMCA and President of Pine Castle Little League as well as enjoying many years of coaching. Dr. Fadem was a devoted husband and father and will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Kris Moncrief Fadem and their daughter Ashlea Fadem, Jerry Fadem Jr. (Carmen), Mary Jane Harmount, KC Fadem, Betsy Story (Dirk), Bobby Fadem (Beth), Katie Cannon (Rob Major), his 13 grandchildren and granddog Trigger, and first wife Shirley Cannon. To remember Dr. Fadem, a celebration of life gathering will be held at Eddie V's restaurant on Sand Lake Rd. Saturday, May 13, from 5:00 to 8:00. Family and friends only.
