Jesse Harris

Faith-filled Christian soldier, son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather entered into sweet eternal rest in the bosom of our Father God on September 21, 2015 in the comfort of his home in Orlando, Florida.

Born November 10, 1924 to Ed and Linia Harris in Tucker, Arkansas. His legacy of love and faithful service includes an Honorable Discharge from the United States Army where he served in WWII; Retiree and Pensioner with International Harvester, twice retired from Orange County School Board; as wells as passionate service to the building of God’s Kingdom in the following Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church Ministries: Sunday School Assistant Superintendent, Brotherhood, Men’s Choir, Usher, Culinary, Outreach, and Silver Angels.

Our dad was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and one brother. He is survived by his children Jack & Charles Mitchell, Keith Harris, Jeanette Harris and Belinda Giddens; grandchildren Courtney Barnett, Trashad Harris and Travia Williams; and great-grandchildren Jaxon & Brielle Barnett.

We wish to extend our gratitude to the many church family members of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church as well as Vitas Hospice for their loving kindness and support in his final days.
