

John was married to the love of his life Shirley Carlton Balsley, on August 13, 1977. They had one daughter, Summer Marie Brown.
John Balsley had a career in engineering and program management for Lockheed Martin that spanned Thirty years. In his profession, dedicated to National Defense, John had such notable achievements as earning a United States Patent in Electronic Packaging and working on such projects as Night Vision for the Apache Helicopters. In his spare time John held a true passion for art and was an incredible painter and illustrator, mainly focusing on nature and landscape scenes.
John was a devoted husband, a wonderful father to his daughter and a loving and present Papa to his grandchildren. Being Papa, was one of his most cherished roles in life. He believed in Christ and in Heaven. John was a funny, fun-loving, brilliant man who loved music and was the life of the party. John was passionate about things he believed in. He could fix almost anything. John was generous, a helper, caring and always wanted the best for those around him. He was super organized and detailed in every aspect of his life. He loved to talk. John was full of love and life and will be dearly missed by his family, who were so honored to have him in their life.
He was survived by: His wife Shirley Carlton Balsley; his daughter Summer Marie Brown (Johnathan Brown) and his grandchildren; Charlotte Rose Brown and Lily Marie Brown.
Services have been entrusted to Woodlawn Funeral Home in Gotha, Florida.
A private Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 25th. A visitation will be held at 9:30 am with a service to follow at 10:00 am.
