Juan Ramos

Juan Antonio Ramos was born to the late Samuel and Petrona Ramos, in Maimon, Dominican Republic on September 6, 1925. As a driven young man, Juan worked at the Jaragua Hotel, where he created lavish spreads for banquets servicing elite officials and the president of Dominican Republic. He married the late Rosa Nedy Roman in 1950, and they bore a son, the late Juan Ramos II (Tony). They immigrated to New York City soon after, where Juan continued to work in the hospitality industry for a variety of high-end hotels. They bore Jeanette, Adelita, and Julio Ramos.

In 1964, Juan married Cruz Infante (Dinorah) and they lived for many years in New York City. They bore their son Edwin, the late Marisol, and Maribel Ramos. Juan’s entrepreneurship heightened in the 1970’s. He owned a restaurant and ventured into the New York City taxicab business. In the 1980’s, he purchased a small neighborhood grocery store.

Juan retired in North Miami Beach, Florida where he met and married his wife Ruth Arango de Ramos in 2003. In 2016, they moved to Orlando, Florida and enjoyed a loving life together.

Juan Antonio Ramos passed away peacefully on October 28, 2022. He is survived by his wife Ruth;five children (Jeanette, Adelita, Julio, Edwin, and Maribel), two stepsons(Wifred and Henry);eight grandchildren (Julissa, Christopher, Roberto, Robert, Tiffany, Victoria , Justin, and Taylor); three great-grandchildren (Jaiden, Edsel, and Azumi). He is preceded in death by two of his children, three brothers, two sisters, and both parents.

A visitation for Juan will be held from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home on Sunday, November 6, 2022. A funeral service will follow from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. A graveside service will continue after at Woodlawn Memorial Park from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM. A reception will occur from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, back inside the funeral home following graveside services.
