L.C. met, courted, and married Doll Miller. From this union, they were blessed with eight beautiful children. More than a husband,
L.C. was everything to Doll, and together they raised their children to love one another and to love God.
Realizing that the cornerstone of every family is home, L.C. and Doll decided to build and plant their roots in the Catalina Park Community of Eatonville, FL. Starting a legacy of spreading God's word, ownership, and entrepreneurship that spread to the subsequent generations. L.C. and Doll, held true to the hymn, "A Charge to keep I have!"
During L.C.’s young adult years, he attended many Tent Revivals. While attending one Revival Service, he decided to give his life to Christ. He and his wife were baptized in October 1958 at Mt. Sinai Seventh-day Adventist Church. After joining the church, L.C. felt called by God to become an Evangelist and lead others to Christ. He began giving Bible Studies in the community from house to house, passing out literature, and even led several Tent Revivals of his own in Kissimmee, Florida.
L.C. was later led to build a church in Kissimmee. After searching, he found land in the heart of Kissimmee, in the very area where he had been giving Bible Studies. The land was purchased, ground was broken, and the church was built. The congregation began with the very people he had ministered to who decided to give their lives to Christ. That church, Mt. Zion Seventh-Day Adventist Church is still thriving today.
L.C. accomplished many things throughout his life. He was employed by the City of Orlando for 36 years before retiring in 2005. He was also a businessman and entrepreneur at heart. He instilled this mindset in his children and grandchildren by creating opportunities for self-employment. L.C. owned his own lawn care business, Casey Lawn Care Service, which is now in its third generation of Casey ownership. He passed it down to his son, Nathaniel Sr., who later passed it on to his son, Darrius, and the business continues to thrive today.
L.C. will be sadly missed but never forgotten. His legacy will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him, especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a man of faith, vision, and determination whose life’s work helped build both family and community. Through his ministry, his work, and his example, he planted seeds of faith that will continue to grow for generations to come.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doll Casey; sons: Willie Sr., Robert Sr., Ralph, Nathaniel Sr., and Eddie Allen; his brother, M.C. Casey; and his sisters, Essie B. Riggons and Annie B. Haslem.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, George Sr. (Sheila) of Columbus, Georgia; his daughters: Gracie (B), Edith (Tony), and Gloria (Eddie) all of Orlando, Florida; his sister Fannie L. Taylor of Marshallville, Georgia; daughters-in-law Michelle and Deborah, both of Orlando, Florida; 33 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
