He was born in Paragould, Arkansas on August 17th, 1945 to the late Robert & Mathel (Cleveland) Tate.
Larry was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served faithfully in the Vietnam War; he later continued to serve his country neighborhood-by-neighborhood through the U.S. Postal Service.
Away from the job, you might easily find Larry taking in a war movie; or, fixing just about anything around the house… He was a perfectionist, and he loved doing it!
Larry was known as “a man of few words”, with a Big Heart. When he spoke, you wanted to listen… And, more than his own children felt the love – Larry and his Beloved Marjorie fell in love with extra children and grandchildren. Michelle calls herself a “button-on daughter” and, they were certainly fine with that!
Larry will be missed by so many~
He was preceded in death by his son, Justin & his brother, Junior.
He is survived by his Bride, Marjorie; his daughters, Amanda & Angela; his son, Joshua (Kim); his daughter-in-law, Nayely (Victor); his brothers, Mack (Sue) and Gary (Tina); his sister, Carolyn (Buster) Culjan and 9 adoring grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Woodlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
Services will be held Friday, March 13th, 2015 with a Visitation at 10am and Service at 11am, immediately followed by a Committal service at the graveside, including Military Honors.
