

He was born in Afton, Wyoming on March 21, 1934. He was married to his love, Shirley Catherine Miles on July 23, 1955. This year would have been their 65th wedding anniversary.
LaVor served in the United States Navy for 20 years, and then worked as a steam operating engineer for Los Angeles County, California until he retired .
He was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, the VFW and the DAV. He loved God and his country and had a passion for life.
LaVor was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Like so many said, “He was a good man!” He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, his daughter Marie Drury of Windermere, Florida, and son-in-law Rod Drury, his daughter, Sister Elizabeth Miles, S. de M. of California. He also left behind four grandsons, who were his pride, Tyler Drury, Ryan Drury, Austin Drury, and Jacob Drury.
Due to the coronavirus, a private wake will be held Friday evening, March 20th , at 6:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, a private funeral Mass will be held at St. James Cathedral on March 21, 2020 (which would have been his 86th birthday) at 11:00 a.m., as well as a private interment following the funeral Mass at Woodlawn Cemetery.
