Born on August 20, 1950, in Miami, Florida, Linda was the daughter of Freddie and Nettie Glisson. From a young age, she showed a remarkable work ethic and strong spirit, beginning her first job at age 16 as a server at Dasher’s. She dedicated her whole life to hard work and service and later worked many years at PGCS, where she served as the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President until her retirement at 68. She was proud of her work, but it was her role within her family that truly defined her life.
Linda’s hobbies included reading and collecting cherubs and snow babies, but her true passion – past, present and always – was her family. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by the people she loved. Her family was her world, and she was theirs. She was the heart of her home and the rock that held her loved ones together. Her love didn’t stop at blood – she embraced friends as family and was always there to offer strength, wisdom, and warmth. She had a way of making everyone feel seen, loved, and supported. Linda was more than a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend – she was the foundation for her family. She was the one people turned to for comfort, advice, and support. She poured her heart into loving them fiercely, whether by blood or bond and she made sure everyone knew they mattered. Her wisdom, patience, and unwavering presence held generations together.
Linda is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 55 years, Glenn; her children Danette (Steve) Ackley and David (Julianne) Stearman; her sisters Lorna (Corbett) Deloach; and Judi (Dik) Green; her cherished grandchildren Cory (Sarah), Caleb (Ashlee), Dalton (Hailey), Carter, Amber (Mitchell), Amanda (Keith), and Lorna. She also leaves behind many great-grandchildren: Natalie, Jaelynn, Rosie, Aniyah, Sean Jr, Josiah, Colton, Raelynn, Kaylan, Rylan, Kelsey, Carleigh, Colton, Brooklyn, Mason and Kaiden. Linda’s legacy also lives on in the many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends who loved her deeply.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Freddie and Nettie Glisson, and Her brother Wendell (Winkie) Glisson.
A memorial service celebrating Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Gotha, Florida. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. followed by a service from 1:00-2:00 p.m., burial from 2:00-2:15 p.m. and light refreshments to follow inside.
Linda’s life is one of love, loyalty, devotion, resilience, and selfless care. Her presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege to know her, but the imprint on our hearts will never fade.
