Lois S. Crittenton was born 11/25/23 to James and Lois Lawson in Ishpeming, Michigan. One of five children, her SURVIVING siblings are James (Helen) Lawson, Marion (Dolly) Lindberg, Keith Lawson, and Douglas (Dorothy) Lawson. Lois was raised in Michigan, her father a IRON miner and her mother a homemaker. She would go on to meet her husband Victor Crittenton and give birth to three children, Susan Sorci, Sandy Hutsenpiller and Jeffery Crittenton. Lois and Vic moved to Florida in 1968 where she continued to work for the government for another 30 years before retiring in 1991. There were periods she worked two jobs, when a woman working at all outside the home was unusual. She was a strong and very loving mother. She always made sure the children had whatever they needed including dance and piano lessons for Susan and Sandy, and baseball for Jeff, even making the girls’ recital costumes herself. She knitted like no other, afghans, washcloths, baby clothes and booties, even knitting Barbie clothes for the girls' dolls. Lois became a grandmother in 11/80 and four more times to follow. She so loved her grandchildren, Danny Strange, Jaclyn Stetson, Jamie Arreguin, Justin Sorci, and Bobby Hutsenpiller, and then her great-grandchildren Lorenzo and Chayse Arrequin, along with two more great-grandchildren she will be unable to meet in life, but will definitely know and watch over. After retiring, Lois was bored, so she went to classes and acquired her Class D Security License, and continued to work. She also took many vacations – one could say she was worldly – the only places she didn’t get to see were Russia, China, and South America. She continued to work, travel and be the best mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother anyone could ask for, until her health started to give way, along with her memory. Last year in June would be the end of her work career at the age of 87. However, she kept going strong for all of her family, until she could no longer do so.
